“Giving to each one his own work”

Mark 13:33-35. Isaiah 48:17.

I. It’s a big honour for the disciples, when the Lord invites to take part in His work.

II. Everybody of us is a co-worker in Christ.

1) There are three reasons why it’s necessary to cooperate:

А) For the sake of Christ. His advent depends on a finish of His work, and the finish of His work depends not only on the action of the Spirit but also on a diligent work of His disciples today.

He needs us as well as He needed disciples who fed 5 thousand people (Mark 6:35-41), who prepared entry for Him to Jerusalem (Matthew 21:1-3).

As more people are saved, it would be bigger award of his sufferings.

B) For the sake of people. An intention of Jesus in respect of people. 2Peter 3:9. 1 Timothy 2:4. He had not stopped at the expensive cost of people redemption. 1Peter 1:18-19. Romans 8:32. He was pity for the nation. Mark 6:34.

C) For yourself.

а) When you work for Lord, it helps you to stay away from sin. Beginning of David’s sin started when he wasn’t among the troops that went to war.  He indulged in empty walking in Jerusalem.  2 Samuel 11:1-3.

If the church does nothing, then the devil takes position and makes people to do work that would require whole energy to destroy spiritual life and would make them to fall.

b) If you help another person to do something, you help yourself. We can be “co-participants» of Gospel, only if we cooperate with Christ (1 Corinthians 9:16-23).

One of the major conditions of growth and strength in the Christian life is a work. (Nobody can’t be physically healthy, if he doesn’t move, and nobody can’t have a strong spiritual life, if he doesn’t work for Lord). Christian who works is happy and strong.

c) Our happiness in true and in Lord increases when we cooperate. “Those who sacrifice own life for serving as Jesus served, they know the essence of true glory… They grow because that they help other people”.

d) Our salvation depends on our cooperation in God’s work. Matthew 25:45.40.

2) Who can be Christ’s co-worker?

– All big and small, healthy and sick. 1 Corinthians 12:11.7. Children. Psalms 8:2. Matthew 21:15-16. Youth. 1John  2:13-14. Seniors. Luke 2:37-38.

We can be successful, if we meet two conditions.

а)  Appeal to God. Luke 22:32.

b) Opening of eyes that we would help to notice existing convenient cases (Mordecai “was looking for the good of his nation”).

3) Where Christ’s disciple can have an influence?

а) In a family. 2Kings 5:2-3. Titus 2:9-10.

b) In a society. 1Timothy 4:12.

c)  In a public life (at work).

d) Everywhere in the world. Ecclesiastes 11:1.6. Isaiah 41:18-19.

III. Award for every helper of Jesus. Galatians 6:9. Daniel 12:3.

So, doing each one own work, we should be watchful.

Amen.
